Documentation Rules & How To
If you want to see and example of a documentary click HERE
What is Sim Documentation? It's a new form of STORY documentaries for simmers and writers alike.
You mostly use typing, words, and pictures. You can upload your typed or narrarated stories here in this forum.
But they go by ONE rule! (Bah!)
They have to be based on your sim's actual "life", events, and wishes.
How To Write a Documentary:
1. Create a FRESH NEW sim or household.
2. After or During your simming, document your sim's life by typing up a document or narrating by voice.
You can write/narrate it as a story.
I personally use first person (being the sim/roleplay) or you can use second or third person. Exaggerate feelings, moodlets, and events as needed. You can go until a happy ending, sim dies, or continue your generation.
3. It's good to follow your wishes to keep the story going! OPTIONAL: Go to your game settings and set Free Will on High.
5. Upload to the forum!
Mods are encouraged if you want to spice it up!
What's the difference between a documentary and an actual story? A documentary is a sort of story based on a sim's actual "life" moods and events. You take notes. Document. A story you write or narrate how you like.
Sim documenting is more spontaneous instead of planned stories.
Follow the sim's wishes instead of fully controlling them. You can have minimum control
You MAY start a document on the forum and continue it later as unfinished. Just make sure after the topic subject type
(To Be Continued), (Unfinished), or something like that.
You can also split it into parts.
NO posting machinima (game videos), actual Sims stories, Custom Content, Role-Playing or others on THIS forum.
For all that stuff (Our) The Sims 3 Forum is HERE
or the OFFICIAL Sims 3 Forum is HERE
Our HELP Forum to ask questions, tips, suggestions, etc is HERE
Thanks for joining. We'd can't wait to see your creative side! And if sim documenting isn't your thing, thanks for trying!
Legacies are also welcome. Just link them.

Re: Documentation Rules & How To
Well it's encouraged to play from the very START, but sure, do whatever you want as long it's documentary not story
Do please explain them and past things that have happened would be nice, but you don't HAVE to, just helps catch us up.
But you can use dialogue and exaggerate things just make sure it's not ALL planned and based on the life, wishes, and events
